Cruise Control
Demonstration
As with all driver aids, cruise control is there to help us, we still need the same level of concentration as we are responsible for the car.
When I first used cruise control, it was a little bit overwhelming. I kept bearing in mind that I could overwrite it by touching the brake or gas pedal.
It meant that I did not have to keep my foot still but I had to be observant more for any split second decisions needed.
A demonstration of how cruise control works:
One button activates the cruise control. The button on the right sets the cruise control speed up or down, for example to 70mph.
When you are going at 70mph, you may turn it off, then press the down arrow and it will keep the speed as it is, for example 40mph.
You press the cruise control at 30mph and it will pick up from 26, 27, 28 to 30mph. There are no feet on the pedals.
You set the cruise control to 70mph and as you brake the cruise control disengages.
