Vision
In advanced driving we look everywhere.
1. Tunnel Vision: we are scanning the road far ahead. Looking earlier, furthest item first. Mention things that could influence you later on.
2. Funnel Vision: we are scanning the middle road a bit wider, trying to see anything that is going to influence us in the middle ground. Middle ground.
3. Ground Search: we are looking directly on the immediate floor to see what is happening.
We also take full advantage of reflections, looking through glass etc.
over:under:through
remember that harsh braking can be a sign of poor anticipation.
we need to be able to stop in at least the distance we can see to be clear, on a single track road this is reduced to half as the vehicle coming the opposite way will need to stop too.
