If the cars are coming towards us in their left hand lane then they are unlikely to cross our path, we still need to be mindful that they may.

Here we can see that the body language of the cars coming towards us is reinforced by a dedicated lane to go straight ahead.

If they were in their right hand lane they are going to cross in front of us.
